How do you know when to get a second opinion from a doctor?

second hand car

My boyfriend has been complaining about his health for a while now. He gets a ringing in his ear. He feels tired and dizzy. His hands tend to get really red and tingly- like he has put a lot of pressure on them- when he is just sitting in the chair or driving his car. We thought it was diabetes but the doctors keep saying there is nothing physically wrong according to his blood and urine tests. But his problems continue.

I think it might be his work schedule since it includes late nights but my BF doesnt want to give up his well-paying job unless he is sure its the reason behind it. He’s worked there for five years but its only in this last year that this problem has started.

Does this sound familiar? Should we continue to see a doctor for answers? Health insurance is a problem but Id rather find out what is going on with him.

  1. There is never a wrong time to seek a second opinion. You can usually set up a payment plan if insurance is an issue. It is good to seek a second opinion because different doctors may have a different perspective on the issue. it is better to be sure then to regret not checking into it later.

  2. If you’re gut says get a second opinion that is what you should do .Never second Guess a gut feeling because 9 out of 10 times it is right. good luck.

  3. I asked for a second opinion, he said I was ugly too
